Seminars On Health Care Set

The Retirement Health care Coalition (RHC) composed of the American, European, Japanese and Korean chambers, is set to hold a series of one day seminars aimed at dissecting the Philippine health care system.

In partnership with German certifying firm TUV Rheinland, the seminars dubbed "The Importance of Quality Management Systems for Health care Facilities," is part of a continued effort to push the Philippines as a prime international retirement destination.

To be held in Manila and Cebu from Jan 30 to Feb 3, the RHC has selected Sulo Riviera Hotel, Quezon City, Best Western Premiere Hotel, Taguig City, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Makati City and at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Cebu as the venues for the seminars.

Expected to be attended by individuals involved in country's medical care, the seminars will tackle effective and trusted quality
management systems, infection controls, importance of occupational health and safety in health care facilities, transparency in medical prices and procedures, and public private partnerships in health care initiatives.

The RHC, which is being chaired by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), is currently conducting
certification programs for health care facilities in Metro Manila, Cebu, Clark, Dumaguete, Subic and Tagaytay.

The RHC is assisting the government address deficits in the quality of service, transparency of operations, and prices and inadequate legal basis for mistreatments among medical facilities in the country.

The RHC is trying to lure into the country the world's ageing population which is being expected to reach 918 million by 2016.
