We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with BIR regulations, and assisting in both internal and external audits. Experience with Philippine taxation and accounting standards is essential.
Qualifications:
Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, journal entries, and reconciliations; including but not limited to amortizations, cash advance liquidations, intercompany transactions, and accrual entries for ECCP and its subsidiaries, subject to review by the Accounting Manager.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing.
Prepare financial statements in compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
Handle BIR compliance including VAT, Expanded Withholding Tax (EWT), Income Tax Returns, and other related filings (i.e. SAWT; SLS and SLP) Familiarity with electronic filing and payment systems (eFPS/eBIRForms/Alphalist)
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to management.
Records daily cash receipts and invoice entries in the accounting system;
Assists and coordinates with external auditors by providing required documents and schedules for audit completion and other regulatory agencies;
Monitor cash flows and assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
Assist in payroll preparation and reconciliation (if applicable).
Handles the renewal of business permits for ECCP and its subsidiaries and affiliates.
Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the immediate superior.
Job Description & Key Responsibilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferably
At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in general accounting or finance
Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws and BIR processes
Proficient in accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Oracle), and MS Excel, Google
High attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
