The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) is a service-oriented organization whose main goal is to foster close economic ties and business relations between the Philippines and Europe. The ECCP does this by providing a wide range of business services and by creating linkages between companies, organizations and individuals with existing or potential business interests in Europe and the Philippines.

With close to 700 members, ECCP offers a vast business network that potentially translates to multiple business opportunities. It is a unique organization that has developed a wide array of professional business services designed to meet the needs of its members and clients doing business in the Philippines, Asia and Europe.

Here's what we do for our members:

We keep Members informed and guided

We keep watch over the business environment and let our members know the issues and events that should concern them. Members are advised on political and economic events through the weekly reports and ECCP Monthly Philippine Factsheet. Members are advised about new and revised government regulations through the ECCP circular "Government Watch" as well as business opportunities and the chambers lobbying and networking activities through the bi-monthly Business Review. And to keep you reminded about the month's events, we send you the circular "ECCP@work" to advise you of the month's events.

Members are also registered on the Philippine European Business Directory (PEBD) and a free copy is delivered to members annually.

ECCP has made information and consulting services among its top priority activities. ECCP offers business information and consulting services through its Business Information Center to assist companies and organizations in their information and advisory requirements. ECCP is a one-stop-shop for companies looking for business partners, market information, or even financial support. ECCP has a library with a wide collection of EU market studies and guidebooks on how to do business in Europe and the Philippines. Information is also available online through the ECCP website.

ECCP also publishes a guide to European products and services marketed in the Philippines under the title "Who Supplies What?".

We help Members enter new markets and find business partners

A wide range of trade and investment promotion services are offered to members and clients. ECCP promotes and facilitates the entry of European firms and products into the Philippines as well as Philippine exports to the European market. ECCP offers market entry assistance as well as assist in building business contacts, identifying business partners, and preparing market /feasibility studies.

It helps members and clients with export-import as well as investment procedures and regulations, including information on EU and Philippine tariff duties, investment incentives and technical/financial support schemes. It assists members encountering trade and investment problems with government or private agencies.

ECCP organizes trade and investment missions to Europe and assists incoming missions to the Philippines. Industrial visits are organized for the benefit of members and clients travelling to Europe. Business matching or partner search services are offered to European companies wishing to establish a presence in the Philippines.

With trade fair participation still one of the most effective marketing tools, ECCP offers its members and clients a full range of trade fair services, from basic information about trade fairs to obtaining space, from stand management to stand design assistance. ECCP can assist members and clients in their participation in trade fairs in Europe.

ECCP also offers budget trade fair concepts, active pre- and post-marketing campaign, as well as regular introduction of new products through the website.

We give members access to European financial and technical support

ECCP manages economic cooperation projects and provides a font link for European and Philippine companies to access EU-sponsored economic cooperation programmes. This service is aimed at strengthening commercial and investment relations between Europe and the Philippines. EU financial support schemes, such as the Asia Invest programme, are aimed at promoting better understanding of doing business in Europe and Asia, creating business links and identifying partners, as well as facilitating technology transfer.

ECCP also provides access to financial and technical support from bilateral sources such as the German supported Private-Public Partnership scheme, among others.

It also cooperates with the Hanns Seidel Foundation, GTZ, the European Business Organizations (EBO) worldwide, comprising of other European chambers and business associations based in Asia, and chambers of commerce.

We provide Members with e-opportunities

ECCP has made itself accessible to members and clients worldwide by creating an interactive web site (www.eccp.com) that features up-to-date reports on the economy, members' profiles/activities, new government regulations, as well as business and networking opportunities here and abroad. ECCP.COM serves as your virtual stepping stone to the global market. As a member, you get global exposure through a basic company web page at ECCP.COM; our site presently received about 8,000 hits and 500 unique visitors a day.

ECCP has an on-line team, the ECCPOnline (www.eccponline.com) that is ready to develop and host an exciting and interactive web site for your company. It can help members and clients establish internet web page, a service that offers the creation, maintenance and placement of websites for companies.

ECCP is also spearheading initiatives to promote the IT sector in Europe through its close association with the European IT Service Center (www.eitsc.com). The EITSC is the brainchild of ECCP, GTZ and Asia Europe Foundation. It is designed to serve as a bridge to quality IT services between Europe and the Philippines for the promotion of IT business cooperation. Through EITSC, ECCP hopes to match the IT requirements of Europe with Philippine IT capabilities.

We create networking opportunities for our Members

In cyberspace or on the ground, ECCP creates plenty of networking opportunities for companies. ECCP members can participate in breakfast events, regular ‘business luncheons’ and early evening socials like ‘Mixers’ and ‘At Home’. For recreation, ECCP also organizes the annual ECCP Golf Challenge.

ECCP, through its events management are, Fairs and More Inc., co-organizes with its partners local trade shows, exhibitions and conferences. FMI has organized product launchings, company anniversaries, turnover parties, and other special business and social events for members. The service is not limited to organizing the venue and the program, but also the preparation of the event collaterals and sponsorships, if required. FMI could help organize something special for you. We provide Members with training opportunities

ECCP offers management, marketing and technical training programmes with resource speakers from Europe and the Philippines. Its training arm, Training Works (www.trainingworks.com.ph), is offering a full programme of seminars and conferences that aims to support the management, marketing and technical skills upgrading of members. It collaborates with experts and various training institutions to deliver high quality training programs to members.

We give Members the opportunity to raise their business concerns

The ECCP organizes business meetings through ECCP committees or jointly with other foreign chambers in order to co-ordinate the position of the business sector and the membership. It dialogues with Philippine government officials on important economic issues affecting Philippine-European business relations.

Moreover, the ECCP enjoys the co-operation of the leading Philippine and European trade and business organizations and maintain close links to the commercial sections of the European embassies and the Delegation of the European Commission in the Philippines.

ECCP makes its members' viewpoint heard on economic and business issues, legislative measures and administrative regulations.
