The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines Cebu convened for the 1st ECCP Cebu Business Council Meeting of the year last 5 February 2020 at Escario Central Hotel. The meeting was attended by members of the council and invited guests from various companies and organizations. 

ECCP Cebu Business Council Chairman and AVP for Commercial Divisions of AppleOne Properties, and General Manager of Regus Cebu, Ms. Valeiry Flories, presided over the meeting. Mr. Jochen Bitzer, President and CEO of Mercedes Benz, and member of the ECCP Board of Directors was also present. 

The discussions were facilitated by Ms. Dottie Wurgler-Cronin, General Manager of Sheraton Mactan and Ms. Gwen Dela Cruz, General Manager of Seda Ayala Centre Cebu. Updates on ECCP’s advocacy efforts, initiatives, and meetings with Philippine government officials were also shared by Ms. Sophia Ordoña, Industry and Government Affairs Manager of ECCP.

The quarterly meeting aims to gather ECCP Cebu Business Council and ECCP members to discuss Cebu developments, industry and sectoral updates, advocacy initiatives, and announcement of upcoming ECCP Cebu activities. The particular meeting was also attended by invited non-members to observe and to streamline the challenges and bottlenecks each industry is facing. 

The meeting was concluded by drawing out possible actions and steps that ECCP and the stakeholders may take in leveraging common concerns to the Philippine government.
