Ease of Doing Business

Amending Republic Act No. 9485 or the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007, Republic Act No. 11032 also known as Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 mandates all government offices and agencies including local government units (LGUs), Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) and other government instrumentalities to provide services covering business and non-business related transactions, which adopts simplified procedures that will reduce red tape and expedite transactions in government.

ECCP becomes ARTA Champion

The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) and the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in February 2024 to improve the ease of doing business in the Philippines, with the ECCP acting as an ARTA Champion and organizing events to discuss regulatory reforms.

Through the memorandum, the ECCP is authorized to receive the red tape-related complaints or inquiries of its Chamber members, which it will refer and relay directly to ARTA.

ECCP reaffirms commitment to making Doing Business Easier in the Philippines

During a luncheon meeting held in March 2025, the Chamber reaffirmed its commitment to supporting ARTA’s mission, emphasizing the growing strength of their partnership.

e-ARTA Complaints Management System

The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) launched its artificial intelligence-powered electronic complaint management system (E-CMS) to streamline the filing and handling of complaints against unnecessary bureaucracy. The web-based platform facilitates filing, sorting, managing, drafting resolutions, and tracking the status of public complaints.
