In recent years, the Philippines has emerged as a dynamic player in the Asia-Pacific region, exhibiting sustained growth despite challenges posed by major global headwinds. In 2024, the Philippines concluded the year on a high note, achieving a robust full-year gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate of 5.6%. This performance surpassed that of several key Asian economies. Such acceleration was driven by the resumption of commercial activities and increased public infrastructure spending, among others.

Moreover, several multilateral organizations are optimistic about a better outlook for 2025 and 2026, envisioning the country as one of Asia's fastest-growing economies, considering the revisions in economic projects.The Philippines, an archipelago of more than 7,600 islands with a young and rapidly growing population of over 114 million, relies heavily on aviation as a primary mode of transport for both people and goods. With a median age of just 24.5, one of the youngest in Southeast Asia, the country's demographic and geographic dynamics make aviation a crucial economic engine, driving trade, investment, tourism, and sustainable development. As a vital link to regional and global markets, the aviation sector is key to the Philippines' integration into the global economy.

Achieving a globally competitive, sustainable, secure, and resilient Philippine aviation industry calls for collective and sustained efforts across regulatory, operational, and developmental fronts. To drive this agenda forward, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), together with the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA), will host the 3rd edition of the Philippine Aviation Summit in 2025.

Aimed at advancing the Philippines as a strategic player in both commercial and business aviation, this year's Summit will bring together local and international leaders, government officials, and global stakeholders to explore forward-looking policies, business opportunities, and best practices.
