The Upstream Energy 2012 conference will have resource speakers and panels of experts to discuss the realities in the business landscape with far-reaching implications on energy security, supply and demand, affordability and access to energy supplies.
Organized in cooperation with the Department of Energy, the conference will be held on November 14-16, at the SMX Convention Center. There will be five main sessions: Industry Outlook, Sharing of Experiences and Lessons Learned, Expanding Markets for Upstream Energy, Business Opportunities and Policies/ Regulatory Issues.
Main speakers from the government are senior officials of the Department of Energy led by Energy Undersecretary Jose M. Layug, key officials from Departments of Trade and Industry and Environment and Natural Resources, led by Environmental Management Bureau Assistant Director Eva S. Ocfemia.
From the private sector, among the speakers are Sebastian Quiniones, Managing Director of Shell Philippines Exploration, Phil Byrne, Chief Executive Officer of Nido Petroleum, Rufino Bomasang, Chairman of Philippine Chamber of Coal Mines, Eduardo Francisco, President of BDO Capital and Investment Corporation Investment Banking Group, Atty. Eduardo Hernandez, President of the Petroleum Association of the Philippines, Atty. Cyril C. Del Callar, Chairman of Del Callar and Partners, Leocadio Ostrea, Philippine Country Manager of Otto Energy and Arnulfo Robles, Executive Director of the Philippine Chamber of Coal Mines.
Japan International Cooperation agency will present its recently-concluded study on “Potential of Natural Gas Utilization in the Philippines”.
The panel discussion on Sharing of Experiences and Lessons Learned will be chaired by Dr. Bernardo Villegas, with top executives of Shell Philippines Exploration, Nido Petroleum, and PNOC-EC in the panel.
The European Chamber of Commerce will be doing a presentation on LNG- The Clean Energy Fuel Stock of the Future.
