Duties and Responsibilities
Systems Setup and Maintenance

• Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and partners.
• Perform regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
• Perform regular system monitoring to identify any possible intrusions and implement solutions that will strengthen its security.

Research and Development

• Participates in technical research and development to enable continued innovation within the infrastructure. Assist with technical issues in the initiation and planning phases of IT projects. This includes the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out solutions.
• Assist in the research and recommendation of innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
• Documentation of existing systems in use and IT infrastructure as may be required Production
• Creation, design, and enhancements of websites
• Manipulation, extractions, and/or conversions of database coming from a website or one of our systems in use

Technical Support

• Occasionally assist in the setting up and in the fixing of hardware and software problems of ECCP Personnel
• Provides occasional guidance to ECCP personnel and clients of the IT/Online Publications Department on technical IT matters
• Provide support for E-mail problems
• Provide assistance in fixing Internet and/or network connection problems in the office
