The ECCP is pleased to share the success of the recent meeting with the EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Chief Negotiator, Ms. Dora Correia, who also oversees EU FTAs across Africa, Southeast Asia, Oceania, among others. This was her first visit to the Philippines, allowing her to have exchanges with key stakeholders.
Attended by several EU business leaders across sectors, this exchange was held on 04 June 2024. The ECCP discussed its views on the Philippines as a viable business destination, sector opportunities, relevant trade and investment-related concerns, and shared expectations for the EU-PH FTA. Both sides reaffirmed the rationale and potential of the FTA.
As of this writing, the resumption of the EU-PH FTA negotiations is expected to start in mid-October.
