Increasing energy demand coupled with the drive towards sustainability necessitates rapid shifts to renewable resources, especially at the height of a highly modernized society, where technology is at the forefront of rapid urbanization. As we continue to experience the effects of climate change, it becomes even more imperative to cut carbon emissions and pursue clean energy.

This session entitled "Energy in Sustainability: Renewable Energy Solutions at the Core of Climate Crisis" will discuss the Philippines' sustainability framework and comprehensive roadmap toward reducing our country's ecological footprint through the use of cleaner energy sources. In addition, it will tackle the country's energy transition plans, discuss the current situation or where we are at now in terms of energy transition, as well as dissect the role of energy transition in our country's Nationally Determined Contribution as part of the Paris Agreement of 2016.

With the theme "Building a Competitive, Sustainable and Resilient Energy Future," the ECCP 2021 Energy Smart Forum Series aims to provide an avenue for discussions on the collaborative efforts of energy stakeholders to support business continuity and productivity as well as to access emerging business opportunities in the energy sector.
