Aside from being in compliance with laws such as the Energy Efficiency Conservation (EEC) Act, employing energy efficiency strategies explicitly provide sustainability incentives. Additionally, fiscal incentives also serve as an appeal to employ energy efficiency actions. From an economic perspective, an important driver that helps gain back investments in energy efficiency is high power rates in the Philippines, which allow for shorter and faster payback periods in comparison to other markets.

At the Forum on Understanding Fiscal Incentives for Energy Efficiency Actions, the ability of businesses to gain both sustainability and fiscal incentives through undertaking energy efficiency programs and projects will be highlighted. This is an important determinant for businesses to invest in energy efficiency that will lead towards the future of sustainability.
