In the East Asia-Pacific area, the Philippines has one of the most dynamic economies. The economic activity in the country is expanding, with robust growth in the services sector, which includes BPO, real estate, tourism, the banking and insurance industries. Moreover, the Philippines' economic vitality is anchored in strong consumer demand, which is sustained by a vigorous labor market, and substantial remittances, leading to increased urbanization, a growing middle class, and a large population.

Unfortunately, the country's COVID-19 pandemic and community quarantine efforts have had a significant impact on economic growth and poverty reduction. Nevertheless, the economy is anticipated to grow further, fueled by a recovering domestic environment, reduced COVID-19 cases, and broader economic reforms.

In line with this, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines will be hosting a webinar entitled "The Philippine Economy: Navigating a Challenging Economic Recovery", which will be held on 16 September 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM (GMT +8) via Zoom. This conference aims to provide a comprehensive discussion of the status of the Philippine economy in the pre-pandemic and post-pandemic eras. The abovementioned conference will bring together experts from the business industry to provide their insights on building economic resilience and remaining viable in the global marketplace.
