 I. The New GSP and Potential Benefits for the Philippines

 
Walter van Hattum, counsellor and head of the economic and trade section of the EU Delegation to the Philippines, will discuss the EU's new Generalised Scheme of Preferences and outline the opportunities for Philippine exporters in various sectors as import duties lessen or drop to zero.
 
Assistant Secretary Ceferino Rodolfo has been invited to present the expectations of the Department of Trade and Industry on the Philippines' GSP+ application.
 

 
II. Return Shipments from International Trade Fairs
 
A representative from the Department of Finance will address the forum on the following:
Issues involving DOF/Customs procedures when trade fair exhibition products are shipped back to the Philippines
Clear instructions on documentation requirements
How to avoid lengthy and costly delays in the clearance of the goods when exporting and re-importing in trade exhibitions
 

 
Exporters of food, handicrafts, furniture, furnishings, fashion accessories, gifts, toys, housewares and garments as well as representatives of forwarding companies, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Agriculture and concerned trade associations are expected to attend this forum.
