Join us for an interactive team play event, "The Power of Play: Adult Learning Reimagined," where we explore the transformative potential of play in adult learning. This event is designed to challenge traditional notions of adult learning and highlight the benefits of integrating play into professional and personal development.

To give a better context, Play-based or Experiential Learning is a learning process whereby participants "learn by doing", and by reflecting on the experience that can foster creativity and innovation in adults. Moreover, this play event will cover competency skills such as Creativity, Innovation, Team Collaboration, Problem-solving, and Critical thinking that are key skillset in professional and personal development.

Objectives:

  • Provide an experiential learning space for leaders and professionals to foster their knowledge and skills through the art and science of play.
  • Network and create conversations with like-minded people on organizational development.
  • Understand frameworks and tools on creativity and innovation that will support organizational activities and decision making.
  • Session Format
  • 15-20 min lecture/discussion
  • 30 min individual or group activity
  • 10 min debriefing, synthesis, and or group sharing

Event Activities:

I. Design Thinking (60 mins)

Goal: To appreciate the power of the iterative process that teams can use to understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative user-focused solutions.

  1. a) Introductory Activity: Case Challenge
  2. b) Introduction and Discussion
  3. c) Group Activity and short Presentations
  4. d) Debriefing Session


II. Problem Solving and Decision Making (60 mins)

Goal: To experience the impact of the process of gathering facts and choosing a solution based on your judgment, situation, facts, knowledge or a combination of available data

  1. a) Case Examples discussion
  2. b) Group or Individual Activity
  3. c) Debriefing Session

III. Strategic Thinking (60 mins)

Goal: To experience a tool to help stimulate strategic thinking.

  1. a) Group Activity Phase 1
  2. b) Strategic Thinking Discussion
  3. c) Group Activity Phase 2
  4. d) Debriefing Session

IV. Unlock your Creative Mind (60 mins)

Goal: To experience a short and powerful way to unlock one's creative mind and the minds of one's team members.

  1. a) Introduction of Creative Thinking tool and short activity
  2. b) Group Simulation Activity and short presentations
  3. c) Debriefing Session

Jay firmly believes in the significance, and impact of emotional intelligence, adversity quotient, and grit in our journey to success. He is a member of faculty of Globe University, and European Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines in his capacity as a consultant. He is also a guest lecturer at Beacon International School and an Executive Coach for U.S. based companies.

He has trained, and/or coached over 67,000 individuals from various industries including: advertising, airline, automotive, banking, business process outsourcing, electronics, financial services, food and beverage, tobacco, logistics, government agencies, healthcare, hospitality, insurance, maritime industry, jewelry, pharmaceuticals, the academe, manufacturing,, real estate, retail, and telecommunications.
