2026 Philippine Economic Outlook

04 December 2025 | 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Dusit Thani Manila

The Philippine economy is expected to sustain its growth momentum in 2026, following a period of moderate expansion in 2025. It continues to demonstrate resilience amid persistent global uncertainties and domestic challenges. Growth is expected to be supported by overseas remittances, a young and dynamic workforce, and public spending on infrastructure and social services. These conditions are significant as they suggest that, despite persistent risks from global trade tensions, new tariff measures, and climate-related shocks, the Philippines will likely remain one of Southeast Asia's faster-growing economies and an important market for trade and investment in the year ahead.

While the growth paths differ slightly across institutions, the common thread is that the Philippines is expected to remain on a positive trajectory in 2026. The variation in figures reflects the degree of uncertainty around external conditions and policy outcomes like tariff developments, reminding both policymakers and businesses to plan with flexibility. For the public sector, this means ensuring reforms and spending programs stay on track to capture the upside of stronger growth. For the private sector, it means preparing for a range of scenarios while taking confidence in the overall outlook of continued expansion.

Against this backdrop, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) will host the 2026 Philippine Economic Outlook. With insights from policymakers, economists, and business leaders, the event will assess the country's economic performance, discuss projections for the year ahead, and explore opportunities in trade and investment. The program will also present the results of the 2026 ECCP Business Sentiment Survey, reflecting the views of member companies across 24 sector committees. These insights will inform both private-sector strategies and policy recommendations, supporting a more competitive and resilient business environment in the Philippines.
