Paris Climate Agreement's guidelines show that at least 20 percent of all cars on the road will need to be electrically powered by 2030 in order to achieve commitments made to address climate change.

Ivone is an engineer specialised on the environmental domain with 20 years experience from which:

  • 5.5 in the private sector (including on industry and on a consultancy) and
  • 14.5 years in the European Commission (amongst those 6 in DG EMPL, 4 in ENTR and 4.5 in DG TRADE)

In DG TRADE, Ivone is an administrator at the unit dealing with tariff and non-tariff negotiations:

  • co-lead negotiaor in TTIP for the sector annexes on pharma, medical devices, cosemetics & textiles
  • Negotiator in the India FTA (TBT and NTB annexes such as pharma, cars chemicals etc)
  • Negotiator for Morocco DCTFA - TBT
  • Negotiator for MERCOSUR - TBT

Ivone represents, with other colleagues, the European Commission at the WTO TBT Committee (Technical Barriers to Trade)

Kumail Rashid

Kumail is the Electric Vehicle Charging Segment Lead for ABB in Asia Pacific, based in Singapore.

Having joined ABB in 2008, Kumail has held numerous senior roles across engineering, sales and regional business development.

For the last five years, he has been instrumental in supporting the development of the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry in New Zealand and Singapore, working alongside government and industry organizations to set the direction in EV strategy and policy.

Kumail has been invited to deliver keynote speeches on the trends and applications of EV charging for vehicles, public transport and heavy vehicles at global and Asia Pacific conferences.

Kumail holds conjoint bachelor’s degrees in Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) and Commerce (Marketing) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.

A dynamic automotive professional with 10 years experience in both retail and OEM functions across the Middle East and Asia in the premium automotive segment.

Sam kicked off a professional career as a Junior Sales Consultant, demonstrating year on year growth and success and developing into the Business Development Manager function in a regional role.

Responsible for market steering for 13 APAC markets as well as Strategy development, Pre-Owned car Management, Retail Professionalisation, Systems Rollouts and management and a key focus towards readiness of APAC markets for Electric mobility.

Jacques has been the Managing Director of CharIN Asia since 2016 and takes charge of the promotion of the rollout of the Combined Charging System (CCS) in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

He is also the Managing Director of W&W Consulting Ltd for Greater China where he provides advise to western technology companies on their Asia market entry strategy and the implementation of sales and market strategies for western companies in Asia. (PRC, Taiwan, Hong Kong, ASEAN...)

Jacques holds a Master Engineering degree in Applied Physics from Brussels University (VUB), Belgium and a MBA degree from Rutgers University, New-Jersey, US.
