A seven-member delegation from the European Parliament will be in the country until Feb. 15 and will be meeting with government officials and the European Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ECCP) and touring Mindanao.

"Since it?s a parliamentary delegation it will be more a generic country pitch but with emphasis on inclusive growth including tourism, agriculture and infrastructure. FTA will likely be discussed," said Trade Secretary Gregory L. Domingo in a text message to reporters.

The parliamentarians will be meeting with Mr. Domingo, Central Bank Governor Amando M. Tetangco, Jr., and members of the private sector. The group will also be launching a Mindanao project.

The delegation will be led by Werner Langen, chairman of the Delegation of the European Parliament for Relations with countries of Southeast Asia.

The other members of the group are Robert Goebbels (Luxembourg), Ivo Belet (Belgium), Roger Helmer (United Kingdom), Barbara Weiler (Germany), Slawomir Nitras (Poland) and Adam Bielan (Poland). ECCP External VicePresident Henry J. Schumacher said business opportunities in infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, and creative services will be highlighted in the meeting.
