In view of our distinguished guest speaker’s pivotal role as the Senate Agriculture Committee chair, we have invited Senator Villar to address the ECCP and AMCHAM membership on her legislative agenda and priorities that can shape the government’s development policies on inclusive growth and economic competitiveness with special focus on the following:

  1. Creation of agriculture food supply chains for the benefit of mix food manufacturers with farming communities;
  2. Deepening European-Philippine SME cooperation through the GSP+ status granted by the European Union;
  3. Renewal of the U.S. GSP scheme to boost Philippine agricultural exports to the U.S. market;
  4. Providing additional fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to further develop the Philippine agricultural sector;
  5. Availability of agricultural credit and loans;
  6. Development of farming cooperatives to consolidate smallholders;
  7. Improving organic certification rules and regulations and accreditation of local and international organic certification bodies;
  8. Promoting farm tourism primarily through the provision of tax incentives and exemptions; and
  9. Alignment of the list of controlled and regulated chemicals used for fertilizer production with international standards.
